Architecture and Liturgy Retreat
With Fr. Daniel McCarthy, OSB
A church’s design must flow from the Church’s liturgy, as the Holy Father says.
YOU ARE INVITED TO REFLECT ON THE LITURGY WE CELEBRATE IN ITS ARCHITECTURAL SETTING AND ARTISTIC EXPRESSION.
Fr. Daniel McCarthy, OSB of the abbey will present a pictorial tour of churches in Rome, England and nearby and reveal their meaning during a retreat to be held at St. Benedict’s Abbey from Friday evening through Sunday lunch on Labor Day weekend 1-3 September 2023.
Our celebration of liturgy is supported by the design of a church. The mystery we celebrate is made visible in the rite and art.
Applications will be made to both St. Benedict’s Abbey church and St. Benedict’s Parish Church, both in Atchison.
Join the monks in their prayers and meals as you wish.
Register to stay in the Abbey Guest House or commute.
